Oops!

I bump and I spill!

I trip and I fall!

I open my mouth and say the wrong thing!

I use the wrong word.

I add too many numbers

Or sometimes subtract the wrong one.

But it's okay

Because lessons are learned!

I just say, "Oops!"

And then move on.

No one is perfect.

We all make mistakes.

Each of learning and growing

For all of our days!

Our mentor sentence is:

"Together the two gazed out the window in silence, at the stars, at the trees, the clear bright moon in the sky." From Gooseberry Park by Cynthia Rylant

This week we will use photo prompts to write our own. Here is my example:

Otters are fun animals to watch when they play, swim and dive.

Nicknames This week we are blogging about nicknames. I've had a few! As I thought of them it brought back memories! My Dad called me Lil' Sweetheart. I loved that name! Most people call me by my nickname, Terry. My real name is Theresa. I've always liked Terry better. My step dad gave everyone a nickname. He had some funny ones! I won't even tell you mine unless you beg! When I taught 5th ...

Dear Class, I look forward to watching your hearts and minds change about the words "not perfect". I am perfectly happy with every bit of your not perfectness! You are learners who love to learn. You step out and try new things that are hard. You are curious and creative. The things that are hard...they are opportunities, and challenges. They do not make you, nor should they break you. You can get...

Our blogs are about to become a very powerful tool! We are going to use them to discuss a very important book called, The Not Perfect Hat Club by Jena Ball. The book is important because of its message. I am excited to turn the pages together and discover the message! We will also use our blogs to connect with other students around our entire globe who will be reading the same book and have some ...
